AI and Discrimination - Module 3

Online Training 10 Minutes Specialized module General

This module examines how improperly designed AI models can perpetuate biases that result in discriminatory outcomes for certain populations.

DESCRIPTION

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into decision-making processes that impact people's lives—from healthcare access to financial opportunities—ensuring fairness in these systems has become critically important. Yet many AI models inadvertently contain biases that can lead to discriminatory outcomes.

This module explores the hidden biases that can emerge in AI systems and how they might disadvantage certain groups. We examine practical methods for identifying potential bias in datasets and algorithms, and discuss strategies organizations can implement to develop more equitable AI solutions. Participants will gain insight into both the technical and ethical considerations necessary for responsible AI development.

MODULE OBJECTIVES

  • Recognize how biases can unintentionally infiltrate AI datasets and affect decision outcomes
  • Develop strategies for identifying and mitigating bias in AI systems
